But a full moon awakens something dangerous: a bizarre group of creatures rises from the sewers and storms the NYU medical center, kidnapping Edward and Dr. Kafka. The Spectacular Spider-Man may not yet know what's happening, but this issue sets the stage for his involvement in the unfolding nightmare.
Context and extras: This issue begins the three-part Death of Vermin storyline. The mutates previously appeared in Captain America 276–278. It also includes a full-page ad (and cover preview) for the 1992 Spider-Man Special Edition (UNICEF): Trial of Venom.
